Hard Cut Limiter Flashing – ECU Calibration at the Rev Limit | CarMatik
Body:
Hard Cut Limiter (also known as Hard Cut Rev Limiter) is an ECU calibration in which the engine cuts fuel at the maximum rev limit with a fast and sharp signal. The result is a distinctive “bang-bang-bang” sound from the exhaust, closely resembling the sound of a real race car.
Hard Cut vs Soft Cut – The Difference
Soft Cut (factory default): The ECU gradually reduces fuel at the rev limit — less noise, weaker effect. Hard Cut: The ECU fully cuts ignition or fuel — the result is a strong “crack” sound and the engine “bounces” on the limiter.
Hard Cut Limiter Calibration at CarMatik
Our technicians calibrate the Hard Cut so that the engine does not experience excessive stress. The ignition cut-off near the rev limit is fast, sharp, but controlled. This service is often combined with the Popcorn effect for the best results.
